That is not a light that is burning, that is a somewhat perpetual flame.

It is the gasses from an oil well being  burnt off. It burns 24/7/365. Some wells are stopping this wasteful practice and utilizing this energy.

"FREE" "NEW" "LAST-CHANCE" "EASY" "REVOLUTIONARY" "THE TRUTH" "HOW-TO"

What is the meaning of the words above?
Those are the seven most attention grabbing words according to some unknown website we stumbled upon.
Now the question is did those catchy words grab your attention?
Or when you see them do your eyes glaze over?
I know almost daily that I type in a browser search bar the words "How To". What's annoying is when you open up a how-to web page and then you can't find the info you seek amongst all of the annoying ads.

And now a word from our sponsor.

We assume the owner of this moving and storage company is a big tall man who has the given birth name of "Richard".
So he has utilized this attention grabbing ploy much to the dismay of many local people, but then again, many people find it humorous.

Here is the last great lakes light ship.

Its usefulness was not that it was light weight and agile.

It was a beacon of light to thwart ships from running aground in shallow waters.

And to this day it is still in use as a historic museum of days long ago on the turbulent unforgiving Great Lakes.

There are still many hundreds of vessels that have disappeared on the Great Lakes that have never been found.

Just like the missing 777 airliner may remain a mystery for eternity.

"The American Legion"

Their motto, "For God and country".

Founded in the year, 1919,

membership 2.4 million.

With 14, 000 posts worldwide.

Headquarters Indianapolis, Indiana.

If you MapQuest American Legion you can usually find a hall somewhat nearby.

But we doubt you will find one with a mural as nice as this one, and one that is this large. How does an artist practice doing a painting that is on such a grand scale as this mural is?

Here is the wikipedia link, for the American Legion.

This fillin station is unique because Texaco was at one time located in all fifty states and Canada! No other gas station had accomplished this feat.

This bridge is so big it looks like a lost or missing 747 airliner could land on it.

OLD MapQuest Original

 Driving nostalgia with MapQuest fans.

People love old signs, especially the old metal ones. Probably because they were universal, and bring back fond memories of a more simplistic time and life.

The old metal signs were built well and many have survived over the decades.

The Texaco gas station signs are unique in that they also bring back to those old enough to remember a very catchy tv jingle, from YouTube, thanx.
