That's the best name for a winter festival we have seen.
The reason for the almost curse word is that the town's that are participating are located by dams.
The fishing contest is called,
"Dam To Dam".
One of the towns participating in the Dam Good Winter festival is historic, picturesque Newaygo Michigan.

In the other season this would all be wakes from boats not foot traffic, sleds, atv's and snowmobiles.

The person walking is coming in from about a mile out, where approximately100 people are ice fishing.
